As mailings are set to resume...

...a response from Uganda

In response to our news that we are set to resume our book mailings, many of our recipients have been getting in touch to confirm that their in-country cargo restrictions have been lifted and that they are now able to receive parcels and packages. 

It has been imperative that we make contact with our pastor recipients, especially given the severity of the pandemic in many countries. By reaching out to them, we are able to gather information on whether they are able to now receive books and ensure that their contact details on our database are up-to-date. In future, we will be using tracked mail to allow us to gather information on how long books take to reach our recipients, and letting them know when books sent are ready to collect locally. 

Pastor Benard from Uganda has recently been in touch to let us know how much he and his church family are looking forward to receiving books from the Trust with our resumed mailings. He tells us that his family and church are praying for our mission and asks that we do the same for his community. 

In Pastor Bernard’s area, the second wave of the Indian Covid variant had a big impact on life locally. He tells how ten doctors were lost to the latest outbreak of the virus, and infections and deaths once again blighted the community. Meanwhile, Pastor Bernard and the team are doing their best to minister to those in need locally; and he brings a message of hope as his library programme (of which our books are a part) continues to offer a source of comfort and positivity to those in the surrounding area.
