Global Book Shipments Update

How resources are sparking revival and evangelism

In a heartening update from Ghana, Pastor Thomas has shared with us the powerful impact that books received through our 2025 mailing are having on his ministry. His recent letter, filled with gratitude and encouragement, speaks to the transformative role these resources help play in his church and community.

The pastor’s letter highlights several key books that have become important tools in their outreach efforts. “The usefulness of your books cannot be written into even a few words here!” Pastor Thomas writes, expressing his deep appreciation for titles by renowned Christian authors. Michael Eaton’s theological writings, David Pawson’s insightful Biblical teachings, and Peter Horrobin’s guidance on deliverance have all been well-received. He also commended Richard Wallis’s Essentials Series, describing it as “thought-provoking,” and emphasised how these books are used not only for personal study but also in teaching and evangelism.

In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, which significantly affected church attendance and activities, Pastor Thomas shared that the church faced many challenges but also saw new opportunities. He reflected on the reduced attendance at mid-week evening services, a shift that remains unexplained. However, Sunday mornings continue to draw large numbers, fostering a sense of community and fellowship.

One of the most intriguing aspects of his update was the innovative approach Pastor Thomas and his team have taken to spread the gospel in the midst of these challenges.

“The Lord led us to undertake morning devotional programmes to many business centres, especially banks, dress-makers, and hairdressers,” he explains.

These morning devotions, which are commonly a part of the daily routines at many local businesses, became the perfect setting for personal evangelism. By capitalising on this opportunity, Pastor Thomas and his team not only shared the gospel but also provided counselling and spiritual guidance. The results were overwhelming; many individuals came to faith, and the new converts were nurtured in their walk with God.

Pastor Thomas’s story is a testament to the resilience of the church and the power of using available resources, including the books provided through the Trust, to adapt to changing times and continue spreading the message of hope and salvation.

“We thank you so much for keeping with us even in the dark period of Covid-19,” he wrote. "God bless you in all things."

It is truly inspiring to witness the creative and compassionate ways in which Pastor Thomas and his team are reaching those in their community. It shows that even in the wake of difficult times, the gospel can thrive and make a lasting impact.
