Bringing Biblical teaching to isolated communitiesLast year we were able to bring news from Pastor Situ on Tanna, one of remote Pacific islands of the Vanuatu archipelago. In response to our 2019 pastor mailing, Pastor Situ has written to us again with an update on his ministry.
It is heartening to hear from Pastor Situ who clearly greatly values the books we are able to send to him. It also sounds like the books are going to be well-travelled as part of the pastor’s latest ministry outreach. His words once again demonstrate how important it is that we continue to serve pastors in isolated locations across the world wherever they may be:
“I would like to thank the Lord for the great help of Sovereign World Trust by providing Christian materials to leaders around the world. For me, I want to thank the Lord so very much from all at our ministry for sending us books. The books I received at the end of last year – Brown’s Dictionary of Bible Characters, The Paradoxical Messiah and Trusting in God’s Grace – are helping me by refreshing my life and ministry because I am living on such a remote island. Our population is around 40.000 and I have pastored our church for 25 years.
I am also helping out in areas outside my own, sharing the good news. The church I pastor is helping the work on some of the other islands some distance away. At the time of writing (December 2029) I am about to go to an island to help out with a Christmas and New Year programme.
Thank you very much for the great help. My prayer that God will continue to bless the ministry and to provide enough financially for the ministry to keep flourishing in the future. God’s blessingâ€
