The gift of books

Good news from library recipients

We’ve been getting an increasing flow of acknowledgements from recipients worldwide recently. This is so encouraging, especially in the light of some of the major delivery problems we have been experiencing in some areas in recent months.

Here are just a couple of the responses from our library mailing recipients in Africa, India and Thailand telling us what the gift of books means to them:

Rev Sampson, Living Bread Missions Churches, Ghana

“All the Sovereign World packages and books have been so very helpful in many ways. Here are just some of them:

  • Daily personal and devotional life.
  • Preparation towards the development of adult Sunday School teaching materials which are used throughout the Living Bread Missions churches.
  • Preparation towards practical missions and teaching ministry in the churches.
  • Teaching via radio using the books as subject content."

Rev Sampson also uses relevant books from the Trust for his higher theological and academic work. He is currently working on a doctoral programme.

Bishop Martin, Glory Baptist Church, Kenya

“Each and every book I have received from the Trust has been of very great help.

I graduated from the Seminary in December 2000 and went home to ministry as a pastor without any theological text books. These had been left with the college library. Through you I have read several books with more Christian information and learning; this is different and additional to what I learned at the Seminary. I now have a good home library and Bible School library in the church. Thank you and God bless you richly.

As the Bible says in Philippians 4:19: ‘And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.’ "

Librarian Biju, Kerala Theological Seminary, India

“Thank you for the gift of books. We love your ministry of supporting many institutions, even our Seminary library and are so grateful to receive them safely.”

Pastor Margaret , Phuket Christian Centre, Thailand

Greetings from Phuket, Thailand!

Thank you for the following books that you kindly sent, and which arrived in very good condition.

  • Christianity Explained, David Pawson
  • Word and Spirit Together, David Pawson
  • The Christian, Israel and the Hope of the World Revival, Michael Eaton

We are happy every time we receive good news. God bless you in your ministry.”

The Phuket Christian Centre use the following Bible quote to underpin their mission vision. It appears on their communications and very much resonates with our own mission:

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations." Matthew 28:19
