Appeal for stories

We recently received a last-minute request for children’s Christmas stories from one of our hardworking recipients in Malawi, Bishop Enock of Christian Resource Ministries.

In 2000, Enock founded the Maoni Orphanage in southern Malawi. The orphanage is located on the outskirts of Blantyre and today works with around 200 children. Besides providing for the physical needs of the children, they are also educated and taught about Jesus’ love.

This Christmas, the staff are planning a treat for the children to celebrate the “coming of the Messiah day”. This will comprise of some special food, drinks, snacks and some fruits. And the team would love to hear about any Christmas-themed stories that they could share with the children. These would be translated into Chichewa before Christmas Day, and given to staff and children to keep.

We have been able to send some links to online Christmas resources, but if you have any other ideas for Christmas stories or resources, please do send them through to us and we will pass them on to Bishop Enock and the team.

In the meantime, Enock shared some photos of the orphanage children hard at work sowing and tending the Maoni maize crop.
